Sydney is without a doubt a part of Australia where modern homes with astonishing designs are and speaking of astonishing modern homes located in Sydney, Hewlett House is undeniably one of the homes to include in the list.
The modern home is a 2013 project by MPR Design Group and the home was designed to provide a sense of sanctuary and views of the Bronte Beach which is located nearby.
The modern home is located on the northern flank of the Bronte gully and it offers views of the Bronte beach, as well as views of the coastline beyond. The architect’s plan was to place the home’s living spaces on the home’s upper floor as the floor is where better views and more light were available.
The architect also planned to have the bedrooms located on the house’s middle floor whereas the lowest floor has a rumpus area that links the garden and the swimming pool to the house.
Constituting a modern home located in Sydney, Australia, Hewlett House has an upper tube which is open-ended and allows the northern winter sun to deeply penetrate into the house’s living spaces.
The form also provides efficient passive ventilation, drawing the north-east breeze through the modern home. Aside from the upper tube, a middle tube which houses the bedrooms is also amongst the parts of the astonishing modern home.
Also amongst the parts of the modern home is a lower level that has a cave like atmosphere as the level is where a room is formed by a cut bedrock wall and a dark stone floor which connects the house’s internal and external spaces.
The modern home also has a pool which provides a water element that spans between the modern home’s rock wall and the garden.
